These APIs are as well customizable according to needs and requirements. DAL does not produce applications, but with our APIs and our expertise, schools and software companies who have an LMS platform, developers, and Arabic team can produce their own applications with their own settings and content adjusted to their needs in 3 to 6 months. 3 Showcases 1- An Arabic spelling checker with 99% of lexical coverage of the modern Arabic language. Our spell checker is specially adapted to high-end text proofreading where checking diacritics (harakaat, a unique feature) are required, such as educational textbooks, reference books, and legal texts. This showcase service is implemented as a Javascript plug-in and integrated with CK-editor. Likewise, it can be integrated in your platforms for content writers (and learners) to check errors in typo, spelling and diacritics, and it definitely detects more errors than MS-office. 2- An Arabic Verbs Conjugator with a list of 15400 verbs. It conjugates all forms past, present, imperative, indicative, subjunctive, active and passive participles, والمفعول الفاعل أسميْ. Beside computing participles forms, this conjugator holds a unique feature by figuring out the correct orthographic variant with/out suffixed pronoun. Educational games are a good fit for such tools. The conjugator may be implemented as a reference dictionary for verbs into your platforms. 3- Many CALL exercises and applications to teach Arabic grammar rules, covering numerous topic in morpho-syntax (الصرف والنحو). It allows the learner to interact and learn from simple to complex rules with 3 three kind of applications: 1- Simple or smart exercises, 2 - Multiple choice, 3- Instructor Interface. => cf. Demo (Ar.) : Grammar Exercise Video - multi-modal interactivity - video, sound, animation, feedback… (youtube) The advantage of the three CALL’s applications is the ability to interact with any word written by the learner in fill-in-the-gap exercises, or to restrict the answers to a valid vocabulary list. All the orthographic, inflectional and grammatical (and vocabulary) feedback will be prompted automatically according to learner’s mistakes. Furthermore, if the learner wants to retest himself for the same questions, similar but different set of questions/answers will be generated on-the-fly for a new challenge without the reiteration of the same boring exercise. The Instructor Interface is a User Interface that allows the teacher to create his own exercises to address specific deficiencies or to develop a grammar topic according to learners’ needs. Not like some E-learning tools turning the teacher into a passive tool operator, this involves the teacher to interact actively with the learners’ needs. Your LMS Empowered DAL’s API Technologies enable Arabic learners to digitally improve their written Arabic skills in orthography, morphology, and grammar through four keys features: • Endless generated content-answers via question-templates: quizzes for verbs, nouns, …; • Open Answers exercises with fill-in-the-blank • Automatic answers checking (grammatical agreement, negation, …) • Automatic feedback related to kind of mistakes. DAL’s API Technologies inject into your Arabic E-learning platforms: • An internal interactivity related to content; not an external one, such as a multi-modal interactivity with video, sound, animation, … • A real infrastructure to build an adaptive and personalized learning experience based on each kind of learner mistakes; not based on general scoring in an exercise.
